| Therapeutic riding is a sport dedicated to those with special needs. Individuals who provide therapeutic riding lessons should obtain specific education/certification that teaches the unique needs of riders with disabilities. The largest certifying body for therapeutic riding instructors is NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association).
Therapeutic Riding has multiple benefits for those with special needs, including:
- Participation in an enjoyable sport/leisure/recreation
- Improving attention and awareness
- Improving balance and posture
- Enhancing self esteem
- Facilitating strength and endurance
- Facilitating language/communication
- Improving range of motion
- Facilitation of motor strategies
- Facilitation of social skills
Lessons can be initiated after necessary paperwork, including a physician release, is completed. All paperwork can be found below. A therapist will then evaluate the student (all evaluations take approximately 1 hour) and lessons are provided based on evaluation results and recommendations*.
*in rare instances children may have conditions that are contraindications for riding.

We currently provide hippotherapy in Las Vegas at 366 East Mesa Verde Lane, Las Vegas, 89123 - near Windmill Lane and Las Vegas Boulevard.
